More Details

We asked the owner Jackie Berry to tell us a little bit about Le Vincent and this is what she said.

Le Vincent is a three bedroom stone cottage, sleeping up to 8 people with private courtyard garden complete with gas BBQ, garden table, umbrella and chairs. Tranquil village location, set in a large enclosed garden with games barn and swimming pool, yet just 10 minutes’ by car from the A10 and St Jean d’Angély.

The cottage has an open plan living area: a large sitting room with a double sofa bed, dining area and kitchen, well stocked with a full cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and a washing machine. Indoor entertainment includes UK Satellite Television, DVD player and free WiFi. A selection of books, DVDs and board games are also at your disposal should you wish.

Our three comfortable bedrooms are a large double, a twin and a bunk room in addition to the sofa bed in the living area. There is one bathroom fitted with bath and shower over plus a wash handbasin and a separate WC/cloakroom.

If you travel with four-legged companions, we may accept up to two well-behaved dogs – all requests treated on an individual basis.

Out and about

Just a 10 minute drive away from Rue Vincent, St Jean d’Angély is a must visit, with its diverse range of independent shops, banks, a main post office and pharmacies as well as a number of large supermarkets, restaurants and bars catering for all tastes and pockets.

In addition, it boasts an indoor swimming pool complex with water slides, Jacuzzis and a sauna; a Plan d’Eau (outdoor lake with picnic facilities), go-karting and a cinema. Market days in St Jean are Wednesdays and Saturdays with a large variety of stalls and a covered produce market.

Further afield, but within easy reach, we are around an hour from La Rochelle, the islands of Ré and Oléron and the beach at Chatellaillon Plage.

The historic Roman town of Saintes is around 35 minutes by car and Cognac, with its distilleries and tasting tours is just 45 minutes away. From the nearby A10 you can reach Bordeaux (1.5 hours South) and Poitiers (1.25hrs North) respectively, so a day trip to the vineyards, La Palmyre Zoo or Futuroscope for the children is easily managed.

Open from 1st May to 30th September, please check with the owners for weekly tariffs.
